WNB 34: TRAVEL TIPS Quotations
Quotations
and special itineraries are done at our Head Office. Nairobi. However these can
be requested and passed through any of our associate offices worldwide. Reservations
Reservations
and bookings can be made directly by filling in and submitting our Online Reservations
Form. Payment
Payment
is to be made directly to Nairobi via Telegraphic Transfer; the account details
are given on the invoice, depending on the currency. All quotes are given in US
Dollars for the time being. Ground
Transportation Except
where road conditions are very rugged, we use minibuses for our safari tours.
These vehicles are custom built and have good ground clearance making them particularly
suitable for safari work. On the rough roads and long journeys these vehicles
provide a degree of comfort superior to other safari vehicles. Additionally, their
sliding windows and roomy photographic roof hatches make them ideal for photographic
purposes. The standard minibus is licensed to carry a maximum of nine passengers.
However, we recommend that wherever possible, arrangements should be limited to
a maximum of 7 clients per vehicle as this will allow each client a window seat
and easy access to the observation hatch. Safari
Driver / Guides
Our English speaking driver / guides
are familiar with routes and local conditions. They have an excellent knowledge
of wildlife, local people and other local attractions. They are expert game spotters.
The Safari Driver / Guides are vital to the success of any tour and therefore
WILD n' BEACHES DREAMLINERS SAFARIS have gone to great lengths to put together
an unbeatable team, who are dedicated to providing a helpful, attentive and knowledgeable
service to your clients. Some Driver / Guides speak an additional foreign language
such as Hebrew, French, German, Spanish, Italian and a little Japanese. Every
attempt will be made to provide such Driver / Guides when specially requested.
Local
Couriers / Tour Escorts Some
of our more specialized tours include the services of a local courier, in addition
to the services of the Driver / Guides. These couriers have been carefully selected.
Their life in Africa has provided them with immense knowledge of local conditions,
customs and people. They really know and love the bush and their own enthusiasm
and avid interest will ensure your clients gain maximum benefit from these specialized
tours.
There are
free-lance couriers in East Africa that can be arranged for tours requiring the
services of an expert in a particular field, such as, botany, zoology, ornithology,
photography, marine biology, archaeology, anthropology, geology etc. However,
these people are much in demand and therefore bookings should be made as far in
advance as possible. Tour
Leaders Bona-fide
tour leaders accompanying a group of 15 or more full paying adult tour participants
are entitled to free land cost (except park fees). Tour Leaders should be warned
that hotels do not normally allocate the superior rooms to free tour leaders.
Baggage and Insurance
We highly recommends clients arrange
their own cover for damage or loss of baggage, plus general travel insurance to
cover cancellation charges and medical expenses. Children
All
hotels, lodges, and national parks offer a reduction for children under 12 years
of age provided they occupy a third bed in a twin room. Children under 7 years
are not permitted to The Ark, Mountain Lodge and Treetops. Children under 5 years
are not permitted to Salt Lick Lodge. Children under 12 are not permitted in the
dining room / bar of Mt. Kenya Safari Club after 7 p.m. Christmas,
New Year and Easter Most
hotels and lodges in East Africa charge a supplement over the above periods, for
this they provide special festive meals and sometimes gifts for all clients as
well as some special entertainment. However, evening entertainment in the game
lodges and camps is rare, as noise is likely to scare away the wildlife.
